Mother's Day

We had a pretty quiet Mother's Day.  Jason was off doing his Army Drill for the weekend so it was just us four.  Jack really wanted to make me breakfast but with Jason gone I told him it was very thoughtful but that I would make everyone waffles. It's the thought that counts!! Then the boys gave me the presents they made at school  Wyatt cracked me up because he had to be in every photo!  Wyatt's handprint strawberry (these handprints are my favorite gifts and I have one from all three boys now).  Ethan's handprint plate.  Jack's card.  Wyatt insisted that we buy swim goggles in preparation for the pool opening - and then he proceeded to wear them all over the house for the next several days.  Checking in on our garden. It's looking good!!

Boys Being Boys

Trying to catch up on sharing photos so you might see several post from me over the next couple of days. Here are some photos of the boys playing around being boys!!  Wyatt's got this no pedal biking thing down!  Such a sweet face!!  Brothers  Wyatt's turn driving the remote control car.  Next up, Jack!  Daddy tried to get Ethan to drive but he had more fun just flipping over the car when it crashed.  Every now and then I find Wyatt climbing up on Jack's first bike with the training wheels. He's got such great balance that as soon as he decides he wants to ride a bike with pedals I think he'll just take off.  But for now, every time I ask him if he wants to ride this bike, he says no.  Silly boys love to put this on their head.  Wyatt is ready for tae-kwan-do, just like Jack! I think we might sign him up this fall, he needs a sport.

What Could Go Wrong Did Go Wrong

Wyatt and I were waiting for Grandma and Nana to arrive at the airport to watch the boys while Jason and I were gone on our European vacation. As it would be Jason's birthday while we were gone, we headed out for a birthday dinner before we left.  The calm before the storm... The first day we checked in with everyone when we arrived in Italy, it turns out they missed the birthday party they were invited to the day we left.  The boys were disappointed but good sports about it. When we checked in the next day it had gotten even worse.  Grandma ended up in the hospital after a visit from the paramedics!  We thought it was a kidney stone but were waiting for the final word (hard when you are 8 hours ahead in time).  It got harder for us the next couple of days since the resort lost their internet connection and were we on pins and needles wanting to find out what happened. After a couple days we finally checked...

Amsterdam in 26 Hours

We loved our time in Italy but we weren't quite ready to leave so we made a quick 26 hour layover in Amsterdam on our way back to the States.  We flew over the Alps and it was beautiful.    The best part of this trip was not having the kids with us because we walked EVERYWHERE. We took a train and tram followed by foot.  We had no idea where to stay so we picked a Hilton so we could use Jason's points.  This was the view from our room.  These pictures are a little out of order but since we were only here a short while, I'm not going to bother putting them in exact order.  We went for a walk the morning after we landed in search of a good coffee and found it at this little cafe.  There were lots of museums and we came across this cool sign in front of one.  So of course we had to take photos.  We then went for a walk through the art/shopping district.  So pretty everywhere you look. ...
