4th of July - The Monsoon of 2011

Now that it's almost a month late, here are our 4th of July photos! We had a very fun day, despite the monsoon rain we had in the evening. We started the day with a parade in the front of the neighborhood, then over to our friends for our annual tradition of lunch and play before we grill out and have our firework display at our home. The weather for the day started out great, and then at about 4pm the heavens opened up and started pouring. It stopped about an hour later...but soon returned. I've been enjoying using all my beautiful Willow House products to entertain with and display in new ways. It's always fun to find a creative use for a piece that you think can only be used in a traditional way. I love my dessert tower and have used this French Wire Tiered Stand for every holiday since I received it last fall - LOVE IT! It was also fun to use my Must Have Mini Markers, along with my buckets, to display the drinks. Of course all the men commented that I didn't ne...

Photo Catch Up

Wow, has it really been over a month since I posted last??? I would love to say it's because we've been so busy doing lots of fun and exciting summer activities but I'm afraid we've just been living. We have done some fun things, including planting lots of flowers and veggies in our garden and making a Slot Car racetrack table but it seems like the summer just slipped away. Of course, we only had two months, which is long but not long enough. Now we are back-to-school shopping and getting ready for an August 3rd return to school. So here are some photos of the boys from the past month... Wyatt followed Jack out to the car one day and figured out right away how to climb up into it! I can't keep my eyes of him for a second. And he and Ethan are just the best of friends - always together, whether they are getting along or not, they are always side-by-side. Jack spent a week at Vacation Bible School at his old preschool and this is him with our friends following t...

A Few Pictures of the Boys

Here are a few pictures of the boys playing around the house. I love that they all usually play so well together. And nothing beats the sound of their cute little laughs and giggles! Here the boys are playing out in Daddy's kayak. We're hoping to get a boat for next summer so we can all enjoy the lakes together but for now, the boys like to play in daddy's water toy. And finally, another welcoming shot of our front porch. I love coming home to this front door now. I have a few more things I want to add to it but for now, it just feels so much more welcoming than before. I'll try and get Father's Day photos up soon, or at least more photos.
