Living in Georgia

I know it's been a long time since I posted last, and I'm sorry. But I've been busy with playdates, holiday baking and just being pregnant. I'm 20 weeks now, half way there!!! For those of you wanting to know, we will find out the sex of the baby on the 28th. You can't tell from the picture on the left, but that's Jack and Ethan looking out the back door at the snow. None of it stuck and it only lasted about an hour but they liked looking at it. Below is Jack sitting on a box on the chair in the great room. Jack's new thing is to take his breakfast in there and eat with Amber and have a conversation with her. It's really quite cute! We took advantage of a nice day and headed outside so Jack could play hopscotch. Ethan just played in the garage and drew with some chalk. We started our Christmas baking this weekend. You will notice a theme in these photos -- Jack wants to do everything I do BY HIMSELF! Tonight he cut his own cheese and then shredded it too. And he has to help me make everything in the kitchen now. Saturday we're going to be doing our holiday baking, should be fun!! It was a big week for Ethan too. We had PT today and our goal was to work on getting him to walk by helping him cruise along the furniture. By the end of the hour he was taking about 3 steps on his own. I was so excited. I think he just needs the motivation and I realy think it's going to be the Christmas tree when it gets put up. This should be a fun holiday!! The other big news with Ethan is that he's starting to feed himself. He will now reach over to the plate, grab his fork and put it in his mouth! I'm so excited to see such big gains with him - especially with the next baby on the way. Speaking of which, for those of you that might be interested, I had my first baby dream with this third ...

We've been spending the week decorating the house and with snow expected here in Georgia tomorrow, it's beginning to really feel like Christmas around here! Nana and Granddad sent the boys an advent calendar (stickers instead of window to open) and Jack has been having a lot of fun with it. He remembers every day to check the calendar. We're still working to get into our daily schedule. Our therapies were all off this week, so that didn't help but hopefully by next week it will be better. Until then, we're just trying to go with the flow. The other day I took some photos to get a good one for our Christmas cards so here are all the pics I took. Happy Holidays!! The boys also got a package in the mail from Grandma Christy with two holiday books and man have those been popular with the boys. Thank you, thank you, thank you Grandma!!!

Since we only had Jason for a few days over Thanksgiving, I put him to work putting up all the outside Christmas decorations. And that just got Jack excited to decorate the whole house -- in ONE day! Then Jason, or should I say Mr. Martha Steward, decided to make a gigantic wreath to hang in the house. We bought all the individual pieces and then he and Jack (I helped a bit) put the thing together. It looks great! Jason left Sunday afternoon and it was gut wrenching. For the first time ever, Jack cried for Daddy to stay. It was so hard for Jason to leave and I think we were all crying. Jack basically cried all night long and we had to call Daddy at least three times that night so he could talk to him. Luckily, Jack lives very much in the now so by the next day he was OK. Decorating the house definitely helped!!

We hope you had as nice a Thanksgiving as we did! Jason came home early Thursday morning and the boys were so excited to see him. It took Ethan about 15 minutes to warm up but after that, as soon as Jason left the room he would either crawl after him or cry. We had a nice dinner and then nice video chats with Grandma Christy, followed by Nana and Granddad and all the aunts and uncles gathered there....it's definitely hard to be so far away on the holidays.
